Dr. Williams Ugo Uwakwe is a visionary Nigerian medical doctor, public health advocate, and youth mobilizer with over a decade of impactful experience in health leadership, disease prevention, and community mobilization. He currently serves as a Medical Officer at Firm Health Care Foundation, where he brings his wealth of knowledge in public health strategy and creative health communication to drive grassroots health interventions and policy advocacy.

Dr. Uwakwe is the National Director of the Standing Committee on Public Health (SCOPH) under the Nigerian Medical Students’ Association (NiMSA), where he leads national health campaigns and coordinates medical outreaches across the country. He is also the CEO of MedicallyWillz Company, an initiative focused on using innovative tools such as books, music, and media to educate the public on health issues. His malaria advocacy song, “MedicallyWillz – Malaria”, is currently streaming on Spotify and has been featured in numerous youth sensitization programs and school outreaches.

A prolific health author, Dr. Uwakwe has published six books on Amazon, addressing topics such as youth health, preventive medicine, and mental wellness. He is the convener of the International Public Health Symposium held annually in Owerri and has led health projects in partnership with WHO, KNCV Nigeria, Regions Healthcare, LabRad Diagnostics, and other global health stakeholders. He has also collaborated on international campaigns against drug abuse with health leaders from Brazil, Albania, Rwanda, and Sierra Leone.

Beyond public health, Dr. Uwakwe has served as the National Youth Arm Chairman of the National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP) under Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Health, and as Special Adviser to the Commissioner of Youth Development in Imo State. His exceptional leadership has earned him accolades including the Public Health Icon Award from the Imo State University Medical Students’ Association.
