Infectious Diseases
Prevention and Control

Breaking the Chain of Infection. Protecting the Most Vulnerable. Building Healthier Futures.

Infectious diseases remain one of the top killers of women, children, and youth in Nigeria’s underserved communities. From the persistent grip of malaria and TB to deadly outbreaks of cholera, Lassa fever, and measles, communities are often left behind due to weak health systems, misinformation, and poor access to care.

At Firm Health Care Foundation, our vision is bold but simple: a Nigeria where preventable infectious diseases no longer claim lives.

Our Goal

To design and deploy a scalable, community-powered infectious disease prevention model—starting in vulnerable rural and peri-urban communities—focused on awareness, screening, early detection, and health system strengthening.

What We Aim to Achieve:

Grassroots Health Education Campaigns

Mobilize trained local health educators to raise awareness and fight myths around priority diseases like HIV, malaria, TB, hepatitis B & C, cholera, measles, and Lassa fever.

Community-Based Screenings & Rapid Referrals

Organize mobile outreach clinics that provide free or low-cost testing for TB, malaria, HIV, hepatitis, and other diseases, with instant linkage to public health centers.

Hygiene, WASH, and Sanitation Kits

Distribute clean water solutions, mosquito nets, and menstrual hygiene kits to reduce waterborne and vector-borne diseases.

Outbreak Preparedness & Disease Surveillance

Work with local health authorities to establish early-warning systems, using mobile tools and trained surveillance volunteers to report signs of disease outbreaks swiftly.

Training for Community Health Workers (CHWs):

Equip frontline workers and volunteers with the tools and training to detect early symptoms, isolate cases, and educate households on prevention
